Epidemiological and economic modelling
Combining two approaches to modelling to investigate the public health and economic impacts of a disease
Epidemiological and economic modelling involves a combination of approaches to modelling. Epidemiological modelling uses a mathematical approach to understand how diseases spread through a population and the interventions that could be employed to control their spread. Economic modelling is used to assess the economic costs and impacts arising from a particular health intervention or suite of interventions. This can be tailored to a specific national or sub-national context.
